SUNGLASSES FAQ

What is Electric’s sunglass warranty policy?

Electric offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defect in material and workmanship with proof of purchase. If you believe you have a warranty claim, please contact the appropriate customer service representative.

How do I clean my Electric sunglasses?

We recommend only using micro-fiber for cleaning. All Electric eyewear comes standard with a microfiber bag or cleaning cloth. For extreme dirt, we recommend warm water and a soft detergent.

What does the “M” and “P” stand for on my glasses?

The “M” stands for melanin infused lenses, and the “P” stands for polarized lenses.

What is polarization?

Polarized lenses provide the benefit of filtering out reflected light and glare off cars, water, pavement, sand and snow. This lens works great for any activity where high glare conditions exist. Electric’s polarized lens achieves 99% efficiency in blocking polarized light waves and blocks 100% of the suns damaging UV rays, while maintaining optical clarity.

What is melanin?

Melanin is a natural pigment which is found throughout the human body. Its role is to protect you against sunlight damage by filtering UV and blue light. It prolongs your retinal health, and acts as a SPF 140 for your eyes and skin. Melanin improves visual clarity and contrast while relaxing your eyes.

What is Blue light?

Blue light is the most damaging portion of the visible light spectrum. It is also the most harmful to your retina, and after prolong exposure damage and premature aging can occur. Blue light also causes eye strain and visual haze. Electric’s melanin lenses block up to 98% of blue light.

What is Acetate?

Also known as Cellulose Acetate, is a nylon based plastic that is hypo allergenic, and has more transparency and gloss than any other plastic. Acetate produces some of the most aesthetically pleasing eyewear, which is ideal for custom fitting and pliable when heated. Electric exclusively uses Mazzucchelli acetate for all of our handmade Italian acetate frames.

What is grilamid?

Grilamid is a high tensile strength plastic that will retain its shape under all temperatures. This material is impact resistant, flexible, light weight, and durable. Electric uses grilamid in all of its mold injected eyewear.

GOGGLES FAQ

What is Electric’s warranty policy?

Electric offers a lifetime warranty on all defective Electric sunglasses, bags, and luggage. Goggles and other products are fully warranted with proof of purchase against defect in material and workmanship up to (1) year from date of purchase.

Electric warranties do not cover normal wear and tear on products such as: scratches on the lenses of sunglasses, goggles, or spare lenses. Warranty does not cover watches as they are no longer in production. Electric’s warranty does not cover internal or external damage on any products caused by abuse or mishandling.

Volcom sunglasses are protected by a 1 year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Submit Volcom warranty directly through Electric Eyewear. Electric Eyewear has the sole discretion to determine manufacturer’s defects. Scratched lenses are NOT considered a manufacturer’s defect.

If Electric or Volcom Eyewear products are proven defective, they will be replaced at no cost to you. If Electric or Volcom Eyewear products are not considered defective, they will be repaired or replaced at a reasonable charge with your authorization. This warranty applies only to Electric and Volcom Eyewear products purchased from authorized Electric or Volcom Eyewear dealers and is valid for the original purchaser only.

Can you swap lenses with different styles?

Lenses are designed to only fit the designated goggle frame.

Do previous season’s lenses fit into current seasons goggles?

Previous season of the same goggle style lenses will fit into our current season goggles.

How do I clean my goggles?

All Electric goggles come with a microfiber bag for cleaning and storage. Gently blot away any moisture on the goggle lens. Do not use gloves or other abrasive materials to clean your goggle lens.

Do you have goggles designed for women?

All of our goggles are unisex, but for a smaller face we would suggest the EGB2S, the EGB2 & the EGV goggle.

What does “+BL” stand for?

“+BL” stands for bonus lens, which comes standard with most our goggle products, except the EG1K.
